Located at 208 NE Highway 441 in Micanopy, FL, Dunmore’s Burgers was a local fast food restaurant owned by Chester Dunmore, a former Black Mayor in Micanopy. The restaurant was founded in the early 1970’s and continued to operate until the early 2000’s. It was a local treat and many came for miles around to enjoy freshly made burgers, chicken and other menu items.

Micanopy residents continue to salivate over the menu and will never forget Dunmore’s.

One of my high school teachers that I was very close with had a small horse farm in Evinston and I would work there and also visit him and his wife. I was 13, 14, 15 and we would always stop there to eat. Whenever I passed by for years, I would stop in. So good! – Beth Morgan
